THE names of 10 finalists, who will participate in the upcoming Miss Mpumamlanga Beauty Pageant, were announced last week.
Mzimari Productions spokesperson, Bongani Hlatshwayo, said the auditions for the beauty pageant were held in Emalahleni. Hlatshwayo said 45 girls from the Mpumalanga Highveld region participated in the auditions.
“The second round of auditions were held at the Emnotweni Sun, where almost 50 girls from Mbombela, Matsulu, Barberton, Nkomazi, Msholozi, Game, Bushbuckridge and Thaba Chweu participated,” said Hlatshwayo. The age of the women ranges from 19 to 25 years.
“Roadshows will commence with the first appearance of the girls in public at the provincial legislature during the state of the province address.
Other appearances will be determined by the principal sponsor, Mpumalanga Economic Regulator (MER) as all have to familiarise themselves with the functionality of the event, because the winner will be its ambassador,” he said.
The crowning of Miss Mpumalanga will be held at the Communio Auditorium in West Acres, Mbombela on April 18.
“One of the highlights of the evening will be the honouring of the previous nine queens from 2011, which include Mpumi Lephoko, Lungile Libambo, Ntandoyenkosi Kunene, Natasha dos Santos, Zamanene Nene, Elaine Mkhabela, Geraldine Williams, Vanessa Hollenbach and the current queen, Kebalepile Ramafoko,” Hlatshwayo said.
