Mpumalanga Security MEC admits large number of SAPS weapons lost in 4 yrs

In response to questions regarding weapons and explosives used in cash in transit robberies and robberies at businesses and homes, Mpumalanga’s MEC for security and security, Cynthia Tshabalala, admitted that a large number of weapons assigned to  police members in this province have been lost.

According to Tshabalala, 210 service pistols, 8 automatic assault rifles and 4 shotguns were lost in the past four years.

Opposition parties in the provincial legislature had now asked questions on how many of these were used in home robberies and cash-in-transit heists (do they even know?). Are those SAPD members who lost these weapons going to be disciplined?
