Mpumalanga learner in hospital after being stabbed at school

School violence on the increase.

A grade 11 learner from Shobiyane Secondary school in Bushbuckridge (BBR) is being treated in Rob Ferreira. He had been stabbed by another pupil. Today, the Education MEC for Mpumalanga, Bonakele Majuba, would visit the boy. The Department would investigate this incident.

According to Psychology Today, a world renowned publication, when children are reared in a violent society, this would result in more violence. It also stated clearly that the violence of the internet/phone games youngsters watch and play, contributed to young people believing violence was acceptable.

The increase of school violence had become a major concern in South Africa.  Even in peaceful Denmark, this too had become a scourge.

We wish this young man a speedy recovery.
