ANC vows to win Waterberg’s by-elections

THE ANC in Thabazimbi, Limpopo says it is working around the clock to make sure that they win the upcoming by-elections that will be held at Waterberg Ward 2 on November 27.
The elections will be held following the resignation of the DA member Bertie Joubert, who was a speaker for Thabazimbi Local Municipality and Ward 2 councillor in the Waterberg region.
The ANC in the municipality is the main opposition party as the municipality is being run by the coalition government comprising the DA, EFF, FF+ and Thabazimbi Resident Association (TRA).
“Indeed we are working around the clock to ensure that we are winning the upcoming elections against the divided DA. The DA is taking service delivery to white-dominated areas only; therefore, we are urging our people to vote for the ANC during the elections. To sure that the party is failing we have seen many resignations recently. We are approaching these elections as a very united party that is why we are adamant that we are going to win,” said ANC Waterberg regional spokesperson Matome Moremi.
Newshorn has been reliably informed that five members from the different parties on the coalition government had resigned or removed.
Those who left their parties include the late Middah Moselane and Mpho Moloko from TRA, Ronney Manyama from EFF, Bertie Joubert from DA and Gert Gouws from the FF+.
DA speaker in the municipality Thane Hearne said: “I speak only on behalf of the DA.
The DA will defend the Ward as it is currently a DA ward, and will ensure that a committed and competent candidate will stand for the by-election,” said Hearne.
Hearne said all parties of the coalition government remain committed to the original arrangement.
The EFF representative in Thabazimbi Comakae Moshate said the party was going to contest the elections separately.
“We are going to contest it separately. However, the coalition government is still intact,” said Moshate.
TRA was not immediately available for comment.
